Me and Rubi have gone on a few searches for parks in the area. On the 15th (before the Bicentenario excitement really kicked off) we went for a walk to explore the neighborhood and found a park in the middle of a roundabout (or if you’re Cori – and occasionally me, depending on my mood- a suicide circle). It’s a little dangerous to get to but it’s pretty nice and only a few blocks from our apartment.
The next day, the 16th, Rubi found another park that appeared semi-nearby on google maps so we decided to check it out. It ended up being about a half hour walk, but it’s a really nice park. It’s big and geared towards kids (which means there were loads of kids there, especially since it was the day after the Bicentenario and therefore most kids didn’t have school and lots of adults didn’t have work (including us). But we still enjoyed it. We just sat for a while and Rubi read while I wrote in my journal about the day before (which took a long time. But you probably figured that out based on how long the blog post about it was).
We plan on going back to the first one fairly frequently to relax on the weekends and will probably go to the one that's farther away every once in a while.
